Hi there! I am glad you’re here! It brings me great joy to see lives changed for the better and to be a part of that process. If you feel stuck or not where you want to be, I would be honored to be your trusted Primary Care provider and advisor.
A Bit About Me:
I was born and raised in Seattle, WA, where I still reside and practice. I love hiking and backpacking, skiing/snowboarding, as well as woodworking and home improvement (with its never-ending to-do list!). I met my wife, Katie, on a retreat at Mt. Baker in 2022, and we married May 2024. She is my better-half, business partner, and manager of Mind and Matter Health.
My Credentials:
I earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Washington followed by a Master’s of Nursing Science (MSN) at Seattle University. I have 10+ years of experience in Healthcare, 6+ in practice as an ARNP, and 33+ years of experience in the school of life. In this time, a few things became apparent:
- The US Healthcare system is broken and serves the interests of insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies, NOT the patients.
- Men in our society are struggling to thrive in so many different ways, and there are many traps and pitfalls we can fall into.
- I can do better to serve my patients as an independent practitioner, without being bound or beholden to corporate stakeholder interests.
My Philosophy:
I’ve always been a bit “retro” in my approach to life; Katie says I am an old man in a young man’s body. I believe in the importance of modern medicine and empirical science, without forgetting the age-old wisdom and fundamentals of healthy living. I strive for a balanced approach to health.
Additionally:
- I prioritize sustainable, long term health over quick “fixes.”
- I believe our healthcare system does not do enough to address root causes of illness, and is too heavily influenced by the pharmaceutical industry.
- I believe true health begins with real, healthy food.
- I believe that the health of the mind and body are interconnected, and attention should be paid to both. Hence the name of this practice.
